Important Information Regarding Healthy NY

The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) issued the following guidance regarding Healthy NY:

“...The program’s rules do not impose a uniform minimum number of hours that a person must work each week in order to be eligible for coverage, however, the rules are not intended to interfere with a Health Plan’s separate ability to impose a requirement of a minimum number of hours worked (11 NYCRR § 360.3(a)(3)).”

Healthy NY subscribers enrolling with Univera have to meet the minimum 20 hour work week to be eligible for coverage. Since 20-hour minimum is our eligibility standard for small group commercial business we need to apply the same standard to all of our small group coverage, including Healthy NY.
